Our young artists have been hard at work in the Art Studio, exploring the world of Jean-Michel Basquiat and expressing their creativity through mixed media! From watercolors to printmaking, they’ve been diving into line, shape, and color theory while connecting with deeper themes of identity and social commentary.
Sparrows Dive into the World of Greek Mythology!

Marylhurst Student Soars in National Poetry Contest!
We are thrilled to announce another incredible achievement by one of our talented students! Bailey, a 7th grader in our Heron's class (6th-8th grade), has soared to 3rd place in the prestigious National Federation of State Poetry Societies (NFSPS) Manningham Student Trust Poetry Contest for her poem, "Spirit of the Wind."

What a fantastic work party! Thank you for all of your hard work and help. We had over 50 members of our community show up to give our campus some love! We had new and returning families, teachers, children of teachers, staff, PA reps, and board members all participating.

Noelle, a 7th grader in our Heron's class (6-8th grade) recently won 1st place in the junior division of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies Manningham Student Trust Poetry Contest for her poem entitled "Shadows".
Meadowlarks Class in the News
Our amazing Meadowlarks class (blended second and third grade) is featured in the Oregon City News! The story focuses on their "dramatic inquiry" activity, Agate City, where the students learn about environmental justice by creating a fictional city.

Dancing Under the Northern Lights: A Night of Magic and Fun!
Last Friday, our school community gathered at the Redland Grange for an all-school dance. The theme? “The Magical Northern Lights.” With 176 students and family members in attendance, the night promised excitement, dancing, crafts, community, and a touch of wonder.

Thank you to everyone who attended our first ever, whole Marylhurst community event on the Heron Creek campus! It was a morning filled with welcome, hope, and peace, designed primarily by our students, and facilitated by all of our teachers and staff.
Marylhurst Preschool Moving
We have exciting news to share! On October 9th, Marylhurst's Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve moving the early learning program in West Linn to our Heron Creek campus in Oregon City at the end of this school year.
Marylhurst Ranked a Best School in Oregon
We are thrilled to announce that, for the second year in a row, The Marylhurst School has been named a Niche Best School. The new 2024 Niche Grades and rankings were released on September 25, 2023, and The Marylhurst School has an overall A+ Grade (up from an A in 2023).
