Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways for The Marylhurst School community members to make a difference at the school, and volunteers play a vital role. We welcome parents, guardians, grandparents, alumni, and friends to get involved—whether it’s every week, once a month, or once a year. Family and community members who volunteer in our school or on field trips complete a background check. Fill out the Oregon Department of Education criminal history form (click for PDF), include a check for $5 written out to TMS, and submit to the school office. This form must be completed proactively before volunteering.
To honor the school's mission of community involvement, each family is asked to contribute a minimum of 16 volunteer hours annually. There are opportunities that appeal to a wide variety of schedules and interests, however, families may choose to opt-out of the service hour requirement at $20 per hour or $320.00 for the year. It is our hope though that all families become involved in some way as our school is strongest with many hands and voices.
Parent & Caregiver Association (PCA)
The goal and desire of the Parent & Caregiver Association is to create a strong connection between the families, teachers, and the administrative team of The Marylhurst School community. Through communication and fundraising events, we are able to offer the teachers and the school, support however they need.
In addition, we provide opportunities for community events to help guide our children to think beyond, something greater than themselves, allowing them to enrich the lives of others. More information can be found on the Parent & Caregiver Association page.
