Introducing our New 5-day Program Options for 3-Year-Olds

At The Marylhurst School, we know how important it is to find an early childhood program that’s not only developmentally appropriate, but also joyful, thoughtful, and grounded in how young children grow and learn. That’s why we’re excited to share a new option for families enrolling in our 3-year-old program this fall.

Beginning this upcoming school year, we are offering two new five-day program options. These expanded offerings build on the nurturing, play-based curriculum that defines our current 4-day program—where imagination, storytelling, and social connection are part of every day. Fridays will now include our brand-new Project & Play Lab, a joyful and enriching extension of the week with its own special rhythm.

What is the Project & Play Lab?

Fridays in the Project & Play Lab are designed to spark creativity, foster curiosity, and encourage collaborative exploration. Children will:

  • Dive into open-ended projects

  • Engage in imaginative and cooperative play

  • Experience a day that feels both fresh and familiar

  • Be guided by our experienced early childhood educators in a nurturing, child-centered space

Program Options for 3-Year-Olds

Families can now choose from three different program structures:

  • Four-Day Program
    Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–2:30 PM

  • Four-and-a-Half-Day Program
    Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
    Friday Half-Day, 8:30 AM–12:30 PM

  • Five-Day Program
    Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–2:30 PM

Before and aftercare are available Monday through Friday, though please note that aftercare is not offered for the Friday half-day option.

We are so excited to offer these new options for our youngest learners. The addition of the Friday Project & Play Lab rounds out our early childhood offerings in a way that honors the natural curiosity, creativity, and developmental needs of 3-year-olds.
