Celebrating Grandfriends’ Day at The Marylhurst School

On February 11 and 12, Marylhurst School was filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt connections as we welcomed cherished Grandfriends into our classrooms for a truly special event. Grandfriends Day is a time-honored tradition at our school, offering grandparents and special friends the opportunity to step into the daily world of their young loved ones, engage in hands-on activities, and share meaningful moments together.

In each session, Grandfriends joined students in a variety of enriching classroom experiences. From art projects to playing interactive games, composing heartfelt stories, and making music together, every classroom buzzed with creativity and collaboration. It was heartwarming to witness the generations come together, with students proudly showing off their learning spaces and Grandfriends embracing the chance to be part of their school day.

One of the event's highlights was seeing the joy on both students’ and Grandfriends’ faces as they worked side by side, exchanging stories, laughter, and wisdom. These moments of intergenerational bonding reinforce the values of community, connection, and lifelong learning that we cherish at The Marylhurst School.

We are deeply grateful to all the Grandfriends who joined us for this special occasion. Your presence and participation made Grandfriends Day a truly memorable experience for our students. Thank you for growing with us and being invaluable to our school community.
