Community Strong! Over 50 Lend a Hand at Marylhurst's Work Party.

(Photos at the bottom of the post)

What a fantastic work party! Thank you for all of your hard work and help. We had over 50 members of our community show up to give our campus some love! We had new and returning families, teachers, children of teachers, staff, PA reps, and board members all participating. Each and every one of you made a tremendous difference, many bringing essential tools and expertise to get things done. I do want to recognize the hedge crew who put in a mighty shift, going well into the late afternoon. Matt Tindal, Jason Hamlow, Fred Weinberg, Rian Ledgerwood, Dylan Hallstrom, Luke and Dan Tye, Kevin Harper, and Dale managed to trim the entire west side of the hedge, including loading and hauling most of the debris away. Quite a feat! Thank you also to Alex, Dale, Suzanne, Allison, Mary, and Emily for their roles in planning and supporting the event. Thanks to Annie and Melissa for leading the children work teams. The list of accomplishments is long. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Trimming the westside hedge

  • Weeding all garden beds

  • Preparing the community garden

  • Finding lost and found items

  • Organizing outdoor toys

  • Organizing the shop

  • Clearing blackberry on the village side hill

  • Girdling ivy on Lodge side trees

  • Clearing westside outdoor Lodge space

  • Moving furniture out of Building 3

  • Sweeping pathways

  • Organizing Lodge storage room

  • Building raised beds

  • Coordinating items to donate

We are grateful for your time, talents and efforts.
